Brian Barber, M.A., LPC-S
Brian is not your typical therapist. In fact, since 1987, he has made his living in the home building industry. He worked for custom builders and large national builders before striking out on his own in 1996. Today, he continues to stay involved in construction, working on projects ranging from high-end custom homes to renovations and remodels.
However, in 1997, in the course of his home building pursuits, he decided to do something about that nagging itch that just wouldn't go away - the desire to help others navigate their life more effectively. So, he returned to school to earn his Masters in Professional Counseling from Texas State University in 2001. He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004, building his practice in the Central Texas area. He sees individuals and couples, helping them struggle through the many challenges they face in their life.
He returned for post-graduate training in 2008 to become a Board-Licensed Supervisor. Today, in addition to his therapy practice, he supervises men and women pursuing professional counseling licensure in Texas in the art and skill of therapy.
Brian is a "boomer", born in Indiana in 1960. He has been living in Austin, Texas with his wife, Laura, since 1991.
